XEOS, our joint venture company with GE Aerospace (75% GE / 25% Lufthansa Technik) is a state-of-the-art maintenance center for engines in Środa Śląska, near Wrocław, Poland. At this site, located within the Polish Special Economic Zone of Legnica, the newest generation of GE engines, primarily the LEAP-1B, can be maintained, repaired, and overhauled.
It incorporates office, service, and operational buildings for engineers, office staff, and production personnel and an innovative 13 metre test cell.
Decisive for the selection of the location were the favorable location and well-developed road network. Further advantages include the availability of highly qualified personnel and the fact that parts of the engines to be maintained at the facility were designed by Polish engineers at the Engineering Design Center in Warsaw.
