Air Europa entrusts Lufthansa Technik with component support for entire 737 fleet

Lufthansa Technik will continue to provide its comprehensive Total Component Support (TCS) for Air Europa’s entire Boeing 737 fleet for several more years. A key element of the new contract is the extension of services to cover both the two existing and the future 737 MAX aircraft, which Air Europa operates as the first and so far only Spanish airline. Additionally, the long-standing collaboration on component support for the 737 Next Generation (NG) fleet has been extended under the recently signed agreement.

Currently, the airline, headquartered in Llucmajor on the Balearic Island of Mallorca, operates a total of 28 Boeing 737s, including 26 737 NG and two 737 MAX aircraft. Its 737 MAX fleet is set to grow significantly, with an additional 18 aircraft on order, expected to enter service by mid-2027.

Through its TCS, Lufthansa Technik will immediately provide comprehensive component support services. These include component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool, and logistical support through two homebase stock locations at Air Europa’s premises in Madrid and Mallorca.

Pedro Macías Domínguez, Chief Technical Officer at Air Europa, said: “Our decision to continue working with Lufthansa Technik in the field of component support, and to expand the new contract to cover even more aircraft is based on the strong and reliable performance their teams have demonstrated over the years as well as their quality, flexibility and depth of engineering expertise. We are confident that this partnership will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the operational excellence of Air Europa.”

Daniel Hepworth, Senior Director Corporate Sales Europe at Lufthansa Technik, stated: “When our customers are so satisfied with our work that they not only extend but also expand their contracts, as Air Europa has done, it is a strong endorsement of our service quality and partnership approach. We are honored that Air Europa has once again selected us as a trusted partner, and proud to play our part in the airline’s operational stability and future growth.”
