Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey extends partnership with Pratt & Whitney Canada
Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey (LTAA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, has renewed its Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) licenses with Pratt & Whitney Canada for the maintenance and overhaul of PW100 and PW150 engine types. This agreement signed at the Paris Air Show authorizes LTAA to continue providing comprehensive engine maintenance services for a wide range of regional aircraft.
The license renewal encompasses the approximately 3,300 PW100 and 850 PW150 engines worldwide, which primarily power regional aircraft such as the ATR 72 and the De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 (Q400). The contract marks the continuation of a business relationship that began 37 years ago, reflecting the long-standing collaboration between LTAA and Pratt & Whitney Canada. In 1988, the PW100 engine was the first product introduced to LTAA, in those days formerly operating as DLT A.E.R.O. Services GmbH. The business relationship expanded in 2006 when LTAA was designated as a DOF for the PW150 engine as well. Since then, LTAA has consistently upheld its role as a DOF, adhering to the highest standards in aviation maintenance.
Rubin Siddique, Chief Executive Officer at Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey, commented: “As a Designated Overhaul Facility, we are committed to upholding the high standards set by Pratt & Whitney Canada. We greatly appreciate the trust and confidence placed in our long-standing relationship and look forward to continuing this successful collaboration.”
In addition to providing extensive MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) services, Lufthansa Technik AERO LTAA operates two state-of-the-art test cells for comprehensive engine testing. The company also offers leasing options for both the PW100 and PW150 engines. Furthermore, LTAA participates in the Pratt & Whitney Canada warranty program, managing global warranties on behalf of its customers.
