Another Canadian customer for Cyclean®

Engine wash for Air Transat in Montréal

Lufthansa Technik has won another customer for the Cyclean® Engine Wash product – the Canadian carrier, Air Transat. As of November 2016, the entire Air Transat fleet of aircraft, consisting of Airbus A310s with CF6-80C2 engines, A330s with Trent 700 engines, and Boeing 737NGs with CFM56-7 engines are benefiting from Cyclean® engine wash.

The engine cleaning is carried out at Montréal Airport in Canada, where Lufthansa Technik has been operating a Cyclean® Service Station for a year now.

Jean-François Lemay, President Air Transat: "We are thrilled to have concluded this comprehensive engine cleaning contract for our fleet with Lufthansa Technik. Not only will this enable us to reduce fuel consumption and emissions; it will also significantly reduce the maintenance costs for our engines."

The Cyclean® Engine Wash equipment at Montréal Airport is installed in a van, making it completely mobile. It can therefore also be deployed at nearby airports such as Mirabel and Toronto. Oliver Winter, Head of Engine Life Cycle Services at Lufthansa Technik: "A Cyclean engine wash can be carried out as part of maintenance work, in the transit period between two flights, or overnight. The autonomous system, which does not require any external electricity or water source, gives our airline customers highest flexibility in the planning of engine washes."

Cyclean® Engine Wash is up to 70 percent quicker than convention engine cleaning methods and can be carried out without restriction anywhere on the airport site. The system wash can be used on all contemporary engine models from the leading manufacturers General Electric, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, CFMI, and IAE. To date, more than 60,000 engine washes have been performed worldwide for more than 40 airline customers using Cyclean® Engine Wash.
