Transport of medical supplies
We have obtained engineering order specific tailsign approvals from the German Federal Aviation Authority for four Lufthansa passenger aircraft. These A330-300 transport medical goods to meet the growing demand for airfreight during the coronavirus crisis. Normally, long-haul aircraft of this type fly up to 236 business and leisure travellers around the world. Within 36 hours, we modified the aircraft for cargo transport.
Change of an Airbus A380
Several other change projects for different aircraft types are already in realization. A special highlight is that we have been awarded with the technical and engineering support for the operational change of a first Airbus A380.
Certified conversion of your passengers cabin
Due to the current crisis situation, not only the demand for air transport of medical supplies is growing, but also that for commercial goods. We developed a provisional cargo compartment certified via EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to give you the ability to remove passenger seats and install standard cargo pallets. All common aircraft types can quickly be converted into auxiliary freighters. The complete technical documentation and certification will be available within a short time. The conversion itself should then be possible within a few days.
Flexible low-cost container solution
This container-based option makes the transport of cargo in passenger compartments a lot easier and cheaper. Our Unit Load Device (ULD) can be seamlessly integrated into existing infrastructures. There is no need to adapt ground handling processes or to invest in any new equipment. It enables you to load weight and volume which is comparable to a cargo plane. Our container is fire resistant. Our container is fire resistant, accommodates two Euro pallets and can be loaded through normal aircraft passenger doors. With this solution you can respond flexibly and easily to fluctuating demand by short turnaround times and low modification costs.
Documentation for cargo operations in passenger cabins
We offer the development of a tail-sign specific Engineering Order (EOS) with defined Special Conditions for commercial operators to transport cargo in the passenger compartments.
This will be done in accordance with the operator's Operations Manual, actual Layout Passenger Arrangement (LOPA) and installed passenger seats.
We develop the EOS in line with Lufthansa Technik Design Organization procedures, customized for the operator's specific tail-sign and provides flight operation procedures.
You only have to coordinate with your national authority to ensure compliance with the applicable regulatory restrictions.

Simple conversion thanks to GuideU
Designed for very easy installation, GuideU is the next generation of non-electrical floor path marking systems. GuideU consists of photoluminescent lighting strips on the cabin floor to guide passengers to the exits in the event of an emergency involving a cabin lighting failure. GuideU was designed with the customer in mind, combining ease of installation with low weight. No special tools are needed to install the system.
All electrical systems available on the market are mounted on the seats and would also be removed if the seats were removed. After retrofitting with GuideU, the corresponding rows of seats can be easily removed, thus creating more space for cargo.
