Lufthansa Technik Component Services Asia Pacific
Component supply for the Asia-Pacific region
Lufthansa Technik Component Services Asia Pacific Ltd., headquartered in Hong Kong, was established at the beginning of September 2016 as wholly-owned subsidiary holding of Lufthansa Technik AG. The company specialises in the supply of equipment and components and is part of the Product Division Components, operating sites in Singapore, Narita (Japan) and also a new warehouse in Hong Kong. Lufthansa Technik thus has a wide-coverage customer support network in the high-growth Asia-Pacific region.
Initially, a workforce of approx. 30 will be active at the site in the areas of sales, customer services, business development, and administration. They benefit from the direct connection with Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen, the local maintenance service provider within the Lufthansa Technik Group. The proximity of the sites makes it possible to minimize transport times and costs for materials in need of repair whilst increasing availability.
To further accelerate work processes, Lufthansa Technik is deploying the very latest technologies at the site, such as gate.control box newly developed by Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services (LTLS). This automatic material recognition system, subject to a pending patent application, provides customers with component services that are both rapid and needs-driven. This makes it possible to further reduce processing times and costs.
Lufthansa Technik is recognized as an independent maintenance operation in the Asia-Pacific region and already has numerous contracts with major Asian airlines, particularly in northern Asia. No competing component maintenance service provider in Asia is comparably positioned at present, nor can any competitors achieve a comparable position in the near future. Lufthansa Technik has established the new company and the warehouse in Hong Kong in order to further increase its revenue in the Asia-Pacific region.
The launch of Lufthansa Technik Component Services Asia Pacific and the development of the Hong Kong site is part of the strategic plan being pursued by the Component Services division. This business area is expected to continue to grow strongly, particularly in Asia as well as in the regions of Europe, the Middle East, and America. Lufthansa Technik's Component Services division already includes the American maintenance service provider, Lufthansa Technik Component Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with warehouses in Fort Lauderdale, San Fransisco, and New York (JFK).
