The aviation industry is facing a dramatical and extraordinary situation these days. This requires new, pragmatic solutions. All the classroom content offered by us is adapted to digital trainings, e.g. a mix of live lectures, online discussions and interaction, video sequences, web-based training and self-study opportunities. The local airworthiness authorities agreed to the use of distance learning for technical trainings – even for Approved Courses! Please contact the Key Account Management Team for your inquiries.
Lufthansa Technical Training GmbH (LTT) is our provider of training and qualification programs for the aviation industry. Everything that technical staff of maintenance and repair companies and related industries needs to know is covered by their courses.

These are combined with each other in the optimal fashion within particular courses in accordance with the principle of "blended training". Thus, for example, with this coordinated mix of training methods, 50 percent of the tuition could consist of web-based training and 50 percent of classic classroom teaching.

Lufthansa Technik Intercoat, our joint venture with Intercon Holding GmbH (49 percent), specializes in the repair of components, damaged by wear, corrosion, and cavitation, with the "Advanced Epoxy Coating" process. Components which, in the past, would have been scrapped can now be refurbished.
The proven repair procedure called INTERFILL® has been continuously improved over the years INTERFILL® is a material that has been tested for airworthiness and which not only restores the usability of the components, but also leaves them with better operational characteristics than they had in the original state. In order to develop its special characteristics, it is applied like a paste at a thickness ranging from 0.05 to 0.5 millimeters and then cured in a fan-forced kiln. For locally isolated damage, it is possible to fill to a depth of up to 5.0 millimeters. Several variants of the material have been developed, differing in terms of their abrasion resistance, media resistance, and effective operating temperature ranges.
Although INTERFILL® – a mixture of epoxy resin and application-specific filling materials – was initially used exclusively as a high-performance material for engine repair, it now finds almost universal application throughout all parts of an aircraft. The field of application for the "Advanced Epoxy Coating" procedure outside of the aviation industry is also considerable. Already today, many industrial components from the automotive engineering, shipping, gas turbine and machine construction industries are repaired with this high-performance material, opening up new market potential for Lufthansa Technik Intercoat.

N3 Engine Overhaul Services (N3) is the European competence center for the maintenance and repair of Rolls-Royce Trent engines and their components. The company also has one of the world's largest and most powerful engine test stations.
The name of the joint venture with Rolls-Royce plc, "N3", is derived from the three waves that Rolls-Royce turbofan engines have, and at the same time it represents the company's product profile: the repair and overhaul of these engines. The current portfolio encompasses Trent 500, 700, 900 and XWB engines, used to power the Airbus A330, A340, A350 and A380 — currently the world's largest passenger aircraft.
N3 is integrated in the global Rolls-Royce network, consisting of operative sites in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Within this network and, indeed, throughout the aviation industry, N3 quickly established itself and earned a strong reputation. Dependable delivery, excellent quality and oustandingly well-trained personnel have enabled N3 to prevail in the competitive international market, so that the company can now claim more than 40 international airlines from all over the world as established long-term customers.
The first Rolls-Royce Trent XWB refurbishment engine has successfully passed the engine test. "A great and important milestone in these difficult times, which the N3 team is very proud of," Managing Directors Nicole Fehr and Stefan Landes are pleased to say. In 2020, N3 had to adapt more quickly than planned to a change in the portfolio towards the Trent XWB: in June, we delivered the last Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engine for the time being after a regular overhaul in the previous business model. But the future, belongs to the latest and most modern engine type for long-haul, the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84k. This year, a total of 40 Trent XWB engines are already to be processed .
