Services for LEAP-1A/-1B engines
The LEAP engines by CFM International are the successors of the CFM56 engine family. They incorporate several technology innovations to meet operator's increasingly demanding economic and environmental requirements. LEAP-1A engines are powering A320neo family aircraft, while LEAP-1B engines operate under the wings of the Boeing 737 MAX.
Lufthansa Technik has become one of the first MRO providers to support customers around the world as early as the initial phase of their LEAP operations. Preparations for the introduction of the LEAP engine are underway. The company has been licensed for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B since 2017. The cooperation has been intensified with a CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for LEAP-1A and a corresponding agreement for LEAP-1B is in preparation. The first LEAP-1A engine shop visit is expected in Hamburg in early 2019.
