Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services was established in 1997 as a joint venture of Lufthansa Technik AG and the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. The Swiss ExecuJet Group later joined as the third partner, with a 20 percent stake in the successful joint venture (Lufthansa Technik AG: 51 percent; Bombardier: 29 percent). Based at Berlin's Schoenefeld Airport, which will in the future be the only airport in the capital city region, the company's facility of approximately 8,000 square meters specializes in maintaining and servicing Bombardier Business Jets. The only Bombardier Service Center outside North America, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services is today one of the leading providres of these services in the region made up of Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa.

The service spectrum encompasses the entire palette of maintenance and overhaul services (line and base maintenance), such as routine inspections (engines, fuselage, APU) along with VIP cabin modifications and conversions. As well as providing comprehensive MRO services for the Bombarider Learjet, Challenger and Global ranges, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services is also a certified Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) and authorized to carry out manufacturer's guarantee work on all Bombardier aircraft.

From supplying spare parts to fitting out cabins

As a member of Lufthansa Technik´s international service network, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services and its staff of more than 200 highly qualified personnel provide optimal support for the operators of private and executive aircraft. A Mobile Repair Party (MRP) is available to customers around the clock. In collaboration with its partner, OHS Aviation Services GmbH, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services also offers extensive interior refurbishment services at the company's own site. The entire cabin can be refurbished or modernized in line with customer requirements, from seats to carpets to the woodwork.

Optimal planning and process streamlining as part of the "Fast Lane" project mean that Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services can now offer customers the shortest processing time, thereby guaranteeing maximum aircraft availability.

The specialization on Bombardier Business Aircraft means that Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services today can demonstrate Europe's highest level of experience on the Challenger 300/604/605 and Bombardier Global ranges. Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services, in fact, was the first Bombardier MRO provider anywhere in the world to carry out a 7500 Landing Inspection on the Challenger 604. Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services Engineering developed a cabin upgrade for the Challenger 300 at the Berlin-Schoenefeld site. Customers choosing the Challenger 300 "2.0" product received WiFi functionality along with an upgrade of the Cabin Management System (CMS) incorporating control elements from the nice cabin management and entertainment system developed by Lufthansa Technik.

As the leading MRO service provider for Bombardier executive aircraft in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services has continually expanded its portfolio and developed into a full-service operation, providing comprehensive support for VIP and executive aircraft. In 2012 and 2014, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services received the Bombardier Aerospace Excellence Award, an honor recognizing Europe's best Bombardier service facility.
