Services for GE9X engines
Many years of research, testing and development come together in the GE9X engine of GE Aviation. Incorporating the latest technologies and materials, it was built on the proven architecture of GE Aviation's GE90 engines. The GE9X was specifically designed for the Boeing 777X which is scheduled to go in service at the end of 2019.
GE9X capabilities at XEOS
GE9X engines will be serviced at XEOS, a joint venture company of Lufthansa Technik (51 percent) and GE Aviation (49 percent) located in Poland. The engine MRO company prepares to support GE9X operation from day one.
Service center for the newest GE engines
XEOS will operate a state-of-the-art engine service center for the newest GE aircraft engines. The joint venture partners are investing some 250 million euros in the new engine overhaul facility in the Legnica Special Economic Zone in Środa Śląska in Southwestern Poland. The factory is scheduled to become operational in 2019 and will have a workforce of around 600 employees. In addition to disassembly and assembly of engines, there is also a plan for XEOS to have its own engine test facility.
