Lufthansa Technik food truck tour in North America

It traveled 6,500 miles, visited customers at 19 locations and served 7,236 bratwurst sausages – the Lufthansa Technik food truck was on the road in North America for two months, starting in the south of the USA and traveling as far west as Texas and Oklahoma and as far north as eastern Canada.

A break for "aviation heroes"

Lufthansa Technik believes that today's aviation professionals and technicians are heroes who enable mobility around the world every day. The food truck tour aimed to honor these "aviation heroes", because they also deserve a break. Over a period of two months, Lufthansa Technik invited employees of customers and partners in North America to enjoy delicious, freshly-grilled bratwurst sausages as part of the tour. With the food truck campaign, Lufthansa Technik wanted to say "thank you" to its customers and partners at their locations for the longstanding cooperation. 

Starting point in Orlando

The starting point for the campaign was the Lufthansa Technik customer event at the MRO Americas 2017 in Orlando. From there, the specially-designed Lufthansa Technik food truck went on to visit customers and partners at 19 locations. In line with the motto "Get a taste of Lufthansa Technik", employees were served an appetizing lunch. 

Accompanied by social media

The campaign was very well received. Numerous enthusiastic comments and cheerful photos from the locations visited – from Miami to New York to Montreal – were posted in social media. Paul Cunningham, Corporate Communications of Air Transport Services Group, wrote: "Awesome idea for a promotion. The food was great, and it was very nice to meet everyone. Thanks and good luck!" The relaxed atmosphere at the stopovers provided an opportunity for personal discussions. Executives, sales managers and marketing staff from Lufthansa Technik were present at each stop along the way.
