With AST® Landing Gear, Lufthansa Technik offers its highly qualified services for landing gear repairs, seal changes and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections. Looking at a proven track record of several hundred landing gear repairs for customers around the globe, our Airline Support Team's NDT inspectors are qualified for all Level 2 and Level 3 ultrasonic, eddy current, fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle and x-ray inspections with state of the art NDT equipment.

Efficient and safe logistics
Lufthansa Technik Logistik Service's experience in aviation logistics ensures that a shipset, a strut or a spare is available when and where it's needed. But there's more: Lufthansa Technik has developed a proprietary transport system for a number of landing gear types. This system consists of a specially designed transport platform that holds a complete shipset and offers two distinct advantages: the cost of transporting the shipset is reduced and at the same time, the possibility of damage during shipment is drastically diminished.
Special tooling for A330/A340
Lufthansa Technik has an extensive on-wing repair capability for Airbus A330 and A340-200/-300 nose landing gear dowel hole corrosion findings. For this task Lufthansa Technik has developed special tooling to perform machining and rework on the nose gear without the necessity to completely remove the gear from the aircraft. A Lufthansa Technik working party can be provided to perform all necessary steps to repair and re-certify an affected nose landing gear, thus minimizing aircraft downtime.
