Overhaul contract for landing gears of SAS
Ten-year-contract for narrow- and widebody aircraft
Lufthansa Technik AG and SAS Scandinavian Airlines System have signed a contract regarding services for more than 20 landing gear sets of the airline’s complete Airbus fleet. In the coming ten years, Lufthansa Technik will hence provide SAS with repair and overhaul services for landing gears of four A319s, eight A321s, four A330s and seven A340s.
Additionally, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will benefit from Lufthansa Technik’s quick-response services in case of a landing gear related AOG-event (aircraft on ground). Lufthansa Technik will also provide SAS with access to its spare landing gear pool if an immediate replacement is needed.
“We have high expectations in the services of Lufthansa Technik”, said Hans-Henrik Zschau, Purchasing Manager of SAS Group. “But we are confident, that in the landing gear sector we can fully rely on the same high standards Lufthansa Technik has shown us in other maintenance and overhaul sectors.”
“We are very happy and proud to welcome Scandinavia’s biggest airline as a customer for our landing gear services”, said Klaus Koester, Head of Lufthansa Technik’s Landing Gear Division. “Our highly trained personnel will offer SAS not only state-of-the-art repair and overhaul services, Lufthansa Technik’s pooling and AOG-support will also provide our valued customer with the full flexibility needed for its efficient operation.”
Lufthansa Technik and SAS are already banded together in a long business relationship, which in its origins dates back to the 1990s. Just last year, Lufthansa Technik and SAS renewed their partnership with a five-year-agreement regarding a Total Component Support TCS® for SAS’ brand new fleet of ten Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets.
