Eirjet chooses Total Component Support TCS® on Airbus A320 fleet
Shannon Aerospace provides engineering service
Lufthansa Technik has signed a five year contract with Eirjet for Total Component Support TCS® services on its growing fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. The deal with the German maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider, valued at around 8 to 10 million Euros, covers the provision of component repair and overhaul, transport and logistics services, access to Lufthansa Technik’s extensive A320 pool stock and the placement of local consignment stock in Shannon. In addition, Eirjet has signed up with Shannon Aerospace, a Lufthansa Technik Group member, for local line maintenance, engineering and base maintenance services.
“As a new airline we recognize the need to find a supplier that can offer reliability, responsiveness and value for money. Added to that, as a rapidly expanding airline we need a supplier who can keep up with our growth plans whilst ensuring the level of operational reliability we demand. All of this, combined with the local presence of Shannon Aerospace, gave us a great deal of confidence in choosing Lufthansa Technik”, said Paul Schütz, Managing Director of Eirjet.
“We greatly appreciate the trust Eirjet is placing in us and our quite strong record in supporting start-up carriers. We are very much looking forward to being their partner in Ireland. This new contract demonstrates our continued commitment to the region, where the Lufthansa Technik Group has a significant presence through Shannon Aerospace, Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland, Lufthansa Aircraft Painting Shannon and Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon”, adds Andreas Meisel, Vice President Marketing & Sales, Lufthansa Technik AG.
Eirjet is Ireland’s newest charter airline, flying from Dublin and Shannon on behalf of a number of established tour operators such as Falcon & JWT Holidays (part of the First Choice Group), Sunway and Topflight to a number of European holiday destina-tions. By May 2005 Eirjet plans to have a total of three A320 aircraft, with this number expected to rise over the next three to five years.
