BizJet International is the maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) and fixed base operator (FBO) arm of Lufthansa Technik in the USA for VIP and business aircraft, their operators and their users. Founded in 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where its premises today extend over an area of 85,000 square meters, the company offers its customers a wide range of services, from aircraft and engine maintenance, overhaul and repair to avionics services, cabin design, refueling and the use of a comfortable pilot lounge. Since 2000, this specialist provider, which has a workforce of around 200, has been a fully-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik.
The company has 32,000 square meters of hangar space plus all the repair shops required to provide MRO services for the Airbus ACJ, Boeing BBJ and Gulfstream – along with all the services necessary for the relevant engines from Rolls-Royce and GE. In collaboration with Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey, the approximately 70 highly skilled engine mechanics in Tulsa also provide support services for CF34 engines. On top of this, BizJet International also provides full coverage of the avionics services area, from troubleshooting and the repair of installed equipment through to the installation and certification of complex systems.
VIP jets like Airbus A318 Elite are completed with customized cabin interiors by BizJet International since 2009. The innovative concept of standard VIP cabins in versions for 14 or 18 passengers allows for customization of the interiors as regards the choice of materials and seat colors, recliners, carpets, coverings and side panels. To speed up the completion process, the company is striking out into new territory in replacing natural wood in wooden paneling with decorative film coatings (DFC), a material which offers countless design variants and an extremely long service life.
Due to its geographic situation in the center of North America, BizJet International's customer base includes customers from nearby Canada and also from Central and South America. Through timely investment in development of the infrastructure, for example, expansion of workshop facilities, the acquisition of new machinery and staff training, the company has secured a firm foothold in the VIP and business aircraft sector.
