Performance Summary

Parts Repair (SRU - Shop) - Concentrated shop competence

To improve the repair process for components requiring a combination of mechanical and electroplating procedures for finishing, Lufthansa Technik has set up a dedicated SRU shop in the Surface Technology building. Here a large number of components from pneumatic, hydraulic and other aircraft systems are repaired. All the facilities necessary for a complete repair are available, from machining tools to measurement and testing instruments to spare parts, with the surface technology shop providing the aviation-related surface treatment methods.
SRU - Strength of an experienced team
A core feature of the SRU shop is its strong team approach. Experienced employees form an integrated team of multiple competencies. More direct communication, acceptance of additional responsibility and greater flexibility with respect to work content and working time provide impressive performance gains. The list of mechanical components handled by the SRU shop is continuously expanded, offering customers significant advances.

CNC - MILLING
  • CNC Center 1:Axes: 5 (3 main, 2 positionable)
  • CNC Center 2:Axes: 5 (main)
  • Working dimensions: 800 / 400 / 700
  • Maximum dimensions of parts: 1000 x 500 mm (2 areas each)
CONVENTIONAL MILLING
  • Axes: 6 (3 main, 3 manually positionable)
  • Working dimensions: 700 / 400 / 400
  • Max. dimensions of parts: 850 x 500 mm
  • Technologies: milling; drilling; spindels; milling of reckless threads (inner and outer diameter); milling of 3 dimensional contours (limited); engraving (limited)
TURNING
  • Max. length: 1200mm
  • Max. diameter: 400mm
  • Technologies: all turning standarts (conventionally)
GRINDING
>Grinding Area 1:
  •  Max. inner diameter: 200 mm
  •  Max. outer diameter: 500 mm
  •  Max. diameter of parts: 300 mm
>Grinding Area 2:
  •  Max. inner diameter: 200 mm
  •  Max. outer diameter: 700 mm
  •  Max. diameter of parts: 300 mm
>Technologies: grinding of inner diameter, outer diameter, coordinates and cones
NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT)
  • FPI Fluid Penetrant Inspection acc. ASTM E 1417-05
  • MPI Magnetic Particle Inspection acc. ASTM E 1444-05
