The vacuum toilets that are installed on virtually every modern aircraft are high-grade and complex electronically controlled devices that depend on regular servicing to function reliably. Lufthansa Technik has therefore included these toilets in the spectrum of equipment handled in its components workshop.
On arrival, the devices are taken apart and chemically cleaned. When they are subsequently reassembled, any defective or worn-out parts are replaced. The toilet modules are then tested on an automatic test facility which simulates functioning under flight conditions. Lufthansa Technik overhauls toilets made by the three big Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Monogram, LGG and Evac, in accordance with the manufacturers' specifications. This service is offered at a fixed price and with a very attractive workshop turnaround time. Testing on the electronic test facility guarantees 100 percent quality.
